On Tuesday, November 22, 2005, the Annual Gruss Lecture was presented by Leon Wieseltier, Literary Editor of The New Republic, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in Martin Lipton Hall located in D'Agostino Hall. Leon Wieseltier Biographical Information

  • Born in 1952 in Brooklyn, NY.
  • Educated at the Yeshiva of Flatbush, Columbia College, Balliol College, Oxford, and Harvard University.
  • 1979-1982 Member of the Society of Fellows at Harvard.
  • 1983-present: Literary Editor of The New Republic.
  • Author of Kaddish, Against Identity and Nuclear War, Nuclear Peace, and editor of The Moral Obligation to be Intelligent: Selected Essays of Lionel Trilling.
  • Leon has published widely on Jewish culture and politics.
