Tikvah Public Lecture Series
Adiel Schremer: Brothers Estranged: Heresy, Christianity, and Jewish Identity in Late Antiquity.
On March 25th in Vanderbilt Hall Professor Adiel Schremer, Tikvah Fellow and Professor Steven D. Fraade, Mark Taper Professor of the History of Judaism and Chair of the Program in Judaic Studies at Yale University, participated in a panel discussion moderated by Professor Jeffrey Rubenstein,
Skirball Professor of Talmud and Rabbinics, at NYU. The event also served as the official launch of Professor Schremer's newest book entitled Brothers Estranged: Heresy, Christianity, and Jewish Identity in Late Antiquity (pick up a copy from Amazon). Both the book and the panel covered topics relating to the early history of Christianity, deviating from the mainline scholarly examinations and instead viewing the events at the advent of Christianity, from a Jewish perspective.
The lively discussion was well attended. For those interested who were unable to attend, the event was captured in both the still photographs available above as well as in a video which can be viewed by clicking below.
If for some reason you are unable to make an event you are interested in, future Tikvah Center Events will also appear here on the Tikvah Center website for viewing at your leisure.
