Izhak Englard
Justice Izhak Englard presented his lecture entitled Law and Morality in the Jewish Tradition as part of The Tikvah Center's ongoing Public Lecture Series, at 6p.m. on April 5th in the Third Floor Faculty Library in Vanderbilt Hall.
Justice Izhak Englard is a former justice of the Supreme Court of Israel. Justice Englard served on the Israeli Supreme Court from 1997 to 2003. He is the Bora Laskin Professor of Law (Emeritus) at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he was Dean of the Law Faculty from 1984 to 1987. He has served as visiting professor and lecturer at many universities, including Yale Law School, USC Law School, University of Rome, University of Zurich, University of Pennsylvania Law School, and Columbia Law School. Justice Englard is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and he received the Israel Prize for Law in 1997.
